Enjoy, I did. Then I heard all the politicians sing "Come on, Come on"Īnd all the televisions scream "Come on, Come on"Īnd I heard all the supermodels sing "Come on, Come on"Īnd all the empty bottles sing "Come on, Come on" They will live forever, because we say so. I would highly reccomend this to any rock fan, but especially punk rock and Ramones fans. Thank you Vera for your great insight an effort in writing this book, as it explains a lot about the brains behind the Ramones music, as Dee Dee wrote most of them. And if you haven't read any of the other Ramones books, then this is a great place to start. If you have read some of the other book out there about the Ramones, then you will get more into this book that most people. I think I finished it from cover to cover in only three days, it was that entertaining to read. Very interesting, very informative and hard to put down. Seems that most of the book is in her own words and first hand accounts of their life together. His ex-wife, Vera takes a solid and uncovering look at her late hubby and pulls no punches in doing so. I am sure there are a lot of egomaniacs out there in the entertainment field, but if you were into the whole Punk thing back in the 70's and 80's then you will love this read. I don't know how anyone could live with and keep a relationship with someone as wild, uncontrolable and unpredictable as Dee Dee. Talk about a real life "time bomb", Dee Dee was that, and then some. I have been and always will be a big fan of the Bowery Boys, namely the Ramones, but even I learned a few things about them that I didn't know. Think you know all there is to know about the Ramones and Dee Dee in particular? Well, you may need to think again. Everything you always wanted to know, and then some ! Very good read.
